Photographs, graphics and content appearing on our website are the property of, or licensed by, The Talking Teacup; including such matter as published on Facebook, Instagram and other social media website. These photographs, graphics and contents are subject to United States copyright laws.

Book covers shown for Book Club belong to the respective copyright holders. When applicable, these images are shown on this site under the acceptable use provisions of United States and International Copyright laws.

Use of Our Sites and Services

Our site may contain other proprietary notices and copyright information, the terms of which must be observed and followed. Information on our site may contain technical inaccuracies or typographical errors. Information, including product pricing and availability, may be changed or updated without notice.

The Talking Teacup reserves the right to refuse service and/or cancel orders at its discretion, including without limitation, if The Talking Teacup believes that customer conduct violates applicable law or is harmful to the interests of The Talking Teacup or its customers and staff.

Privacy Policy

Personal information that you submit to The Talking Teacup through our web site, telephone, email, or other communication method, is governed by our Privacy Policy. The Talking Teacup does not provide your contact information or other personal details to any persons or organizations except as required for processing transactions, or by court order or other legal procedure.

Our web site uses cookies to make sure you get the best experience on our site, through WordPress, Gravatar, payment/reservation processing and Google services. Our e-commerce site may use cookies to maintain your cart and checkout process, as well as provide us useful traffic behavior information.

Third-party sites, like Google, might use cookies and monitor your interaction with our site. These third-party cookies and behaviors are governed by their respective privacy policies.

Payment Terms

Payments for services and products shall be made in United States Dollars (US$) by Credit Card or Cash. Services and products may not be provided until payment has been received.

Our online reservation system requires a credit card be provided to hold a reservation. No charges are applied at that time for regular seatings, however holiday seatings, special events, and private events may require full payment in advance.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates are available, sold only in person at our restaurant and store. Gift certificates may be used for regularly scheduled brunch and high tea seatings, but are excluded for special events, holiday seatings, and private events. Change is not provided for purchases less than the value of the gift certificate.

Sales Tax

The Talking Teacup charges sales tax for certain products and services, based on the applicable sales tax laws of Pennsylvania.

Gratuity

Unless otherwise noted, prices do not include gratuity for our hard working servers and kitchen staff. Gratuity may be left on the table or added to your credit card charge. An automatic 20% gratuity is added for parties of six persons or more.

Credit Card

Credit Cards may be used for payment, however a surcharge will apply at the current merchant rate.

Price and Offering Changes

Menu items and prices are subject to change without notice. We are unable to match prices of other facilities or honor prices and service offerings described on third-party websites.

Reservations

Reservations are required for all seatings – regular seatings, book club, holiday seatings, and special events. Reservations are per person. Sharing is not permitted.

Reservations may be made via our website for regular seatings and book club. Reservations are not valid until confirmed by The Talking Teacup.

Reservations for holiday seatings and special events must be made via our website or in person, when applicable. Patrons will be required to provide a credit card through the website to hold a reservation.

We do not accept calls during any seating, and we do not return calls Monday through Thursday. If we do not answer your call, leave a detailed voicemail. We will return your call within three of our business days.

Special Events Scheduling

Our Events page features information on scheduled events and special seatings. Pricing and seating times become available six to eight weeks prior to the posted event. Reservations are not accepted until pricing and seating have been announced.

Events and special seatings listed under our “Save the Date” section of the Events page are target dates and subject to change without notice.

Large Parties

Our largest table seats eight persons. Groups of more than eight persons will be required to reserve a private party. Call for more information and pricing. Maximum seating is 30 persons.

Cancellations and Party Reductions

Our Cancellation and Party Reduction policy varies, as well as any applicable service charges, depending on seating type. Service charges for cancellations and party reductions are to recover the costs associated with preparing for your reservation; including food preparation and supplies.

Regular Seating Cancellations and Party Reductions

Regular Seatings are those which are open by reservation to the general public and not for private events, holiday seatings, or special events.

Cancellations and party size reductions for Regular Seatings must be made at least four days in advance to avoid a service charge. The service charge will be the menu price for the reserved seating, per person.

Entire party “no shows” will be charged the full amount of the reservation.

Parties that arrive with fewer persons than reserved will be charged the menu price for that seating per missing party member.

The Talking Teacup is closed on holidays, and Monday through Thursday. Cancellations and party size change attempts on these days are not processed until the following business day, therefore non-business days are not included within the cancellation period.

Special Event and Holiday Seating Cancellations and Party Reductions

Holiday Seatings and Special Events are themed gatherings as scheduled by The Talking Teacup, often within the vicinity of a common holiday or other notable event. During these seatings, regular seatings are not available.

Cancellations and party size reductions for Special Events and Holiday Seatings must be made as described within the gathering’s listing on our website or reservation system. Cancellations and party size reductions which do not comply with the time period given in the gathering’s listing will result in a service charge as described within the gathering’s listing, up to full price per person.

Entire party “no shows” will be charged the full amount of the reservation.

Parties that arrive with fewer persons than reserved will be charged the full price of the Holiday Seating or Special Event per missing party member.

The Talking Teacup is closed on holidays, and Monday through Thursday. Cancellations and party size change attempts on these days are not processed until the following business day, therefore non-business days are not included within the cancellation period.

Private Event Cancellations and Party Reductions

Private events are those exclusive, invitation-only gatherings where The Talking Teacup is not open to the general public and attendance is restricted to the host’s invited guests.

Cancellations and party size reductions for Private Events must be made as described within the contract for the event and will be subject to service charges also described within the contract.

The Talking Teacup is closed on holidays, and Monday through Thursday. Cancellations and party size change attempts on these days are not processed until the following business day, therefore non-business days are not included within the cancellation period.

Take-out Order Cancellations and Reductions

Cancellations and order size reductions for Take-out Orders must be made at least four days in advance to avoid a service charge. The service charge may be up to full price.

The Talking Teacup is closed on holidays, and Monday through Thursday. Cancellations and party size change attempts on these days are not processed until the following business day, therefore non-business days are not included within the cancellation period.

Emergency Closure

The Talking Teacup may need to close for an emergency, such as inclement weather, mechanical failure, government decree or other urgent matter. In the case of emergency closure, The Talking Teacup will make an effort to contact each reservation to reschedule.

Special and Private Event Closures

The Talking Teacup will not have regular seatings during scheduled Private Events, Holiday Seatings, and Special Events. Watch our Facebook page for special announcements.

The Talking Teacup reserves the right to cancel any seating or event that does not have sufficient advance sales.

Acceptable Behavior

The Talking Teacup is designed to be a peaceful and serene place for adults to unwind and escape everyday life. Guests are expected to maintain appropriate behavior to support this peaceful and serene environment.

Parents and guardians are responsible for the actions and safety of children in their party. Due to the length of seatings, delicate environment and for the convenience of other guests, we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 10 years.

The decorations at The Talking Teacup contain a number of irreplaceable, fragile antiques. Guests shall enjoy the decor visually, but may not touch the decorations. Any items damaged by a guest will be added to their party’s bill.

Management reserves the right to refuse service to any guest exhibiting disruptive, inappropriate or dangerous behavior. Guests instructed to leave the facility will not receive a refund.

Food Allergies

Be aware that our food may contain, or come in contact with, common allergens such as dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, or other items. We takes steps to safely handle foods and reduce risk, however cross contamination may occur. Factors beyond our reasonable control may affect the foods which we serve.

In some cases The Talking Teacup may be able to accommodate food allergies for an additional charge. Allergies and Food Restrictions must be disclosed when reservations are made. We’ll advise our ability to accommodate the allergy at that time. Guests are required to advise their servers of food allergies and restrictions, upon being seated.

We are unable to make food restriction and allergy accommodations for Spill the Tea, holiday seatings, and special events.

Outside Foods and Refreshments

Alcohol (BYOB)

Guests of legal age may bring their own wine and other alcoholic beverages, in a factory sealed container, for self service. The Talking Teacup cannot handle or serve alcoholic items. Guests bringing alcohol should bring their own corkscrew and glasses.

Cake and Other Foods

Outside foods, including but not limited to cakes and other desserts, are not permitted.

Governing Law

In the event of litigation, both parties agree that the Laws of Pennsylvania shall apply and both parties consent to the jurisdiction of the local courts of Chalfont, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA. Both parties expressly waive a trial by jury and waive any right of removal or transfer, whether due to forum non-convenience or other reason.

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and The Talking Teacup with respect to our web sites, products and services. The Terms and Conditions supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether electronic, oral or written between you and The Talking Teacup with respect to our web sites, products and services. No change of the Terms and Conditions shall be effective unless it is authorized by The Talking Teacup. If any provision of the Terms and Conditions is found to be contrary to law, then such provision(s) shall be construed in a manner to closely reflect, as much as possible, the intentions of the parties, with the other provisions remaining in full force and effect.
